The teacher asks, "Flora, what part of the human body increases ten times when excited?" Flora blushes and says, "That’s disgusting, I won’t even answer that question." The teacher calls on Johnny: "What part of the human body increases ten times when excited?" "That’s easy," says Johnny. "It’s the pupil of the eye." "Very good, Johnny," responds the teacher. "That’s correct." She then turns to Flora and says, "First, you didn’t do your homework. Second, you have a dirty mind. And third, you’re in for a BIG disappointment."

The article is called "Hemoglobin E syndromes in Pakistani population". Haemoglobin is the red pigment found in normal blood however blood with haemoglobin E has an abnormal mutation in the beta chain of the haemoglobin molecule. The article discusses the causes and effects of this disorder and explains how it is asymptomatic and so their state does not usually result in health problems.

This article from NY Times is called "Bits of Mystery DNA, Far From ‘Junk,’ Play Crucial Role". It discusses that "DNA junk" (or better known as "introns") has turned out to play critical roles in controlling how cells, organs and other tissues behave. The discovery is a major medical and scientific breakthrough and has enormous implications for human health because many complex diseases appear to be caused by tiny changes in hundreds of gene switches. For example DNA "junk" may actually have a major role behind Autism.

This article is called "Confusions About Human Races". It discusses the types of variation specifically within humans and what causes us all to be different. It also discusses the main 4 ways how us humans are catorgerised. The article is very compelling as it specifically discusses humans rather than all species as a whole.
